Smoothing Out Bubbles

Air bubbles developing beneath the surface of tinted windows can be a common problem. These bubbles may appear gauzy and make the appearance less than desired. Fortunately, there are several methods proven to be helpful with diminishing these bubbles. After applying the film, it's imperative to use a plastic squeegee to firmly smooth the window tint from the center outward, eradicating the air bubbles that may otherwise gather. A heat gun or steamer is also a valuable tool for resolving bubble issues. This tool's application of heat causes air bubbles to expand, making them easier to break up. Once smoothed, the bubbles will naturally dissipate.

After tint application, consistent monitoring is vital. Any bubbles that do appear must be swiftly addressed to prevent the adhesion of the bubbles to the glass. When bubbles are detected, gently peeling back the film a tad around the edges and using a plastic squeegee to press the air out is essential. Alternatively, a sharp needle may be used to puncture the bubbles, after which a squeegee can be utilized to expel the air. If these methods prove ineffective, removing the film entirely and reapplying it may be necessary.
